My Alaska Life

In all the years I’ve lived here I’ve never seen a ptarmigan until this year. We’ve had a flock that have been hanging out in the woods behind the cabin for the last couple of weeks. It’s so cool! They are all white in the winter so with all the snow it’s very hard to see them. We hear them first and that helps us find them in the trees. Happy Earth Day!
