This bread is good for sandwiches if it lasts that long. It’s delicious straight out of the oven with buter.
Mix 3 cups flour, 1/2 c milk, 1/2 c water, 4 Tlbs butter or oil, 2 Tlbs sugar and 1 t salt until just mixed.
In cup mix 1 pkg yeast 1/4 c. warm water, 1 t sugar and 1 Tlbs flour and let sit 15 min until it starts to bubble. add this to the other mixture.
Still until a dough forms. Add flour if necessary but don't add too much. You don't want your dough to be too dry.
Transfer dough to a clean greased bowl and let rise an hour or until double in bulk. Punch down and form and 8"log. Put in greased bread pan and let rise another hour or until the dough gets just above the rim of the pan. Bake in a 375 degree oven for approximately 35 min. Remove from pan. To test for doneness tap the bottom of the bread with your fingertips. It should have a hollow sound.
