My Alaska Life
June 21, 2022 is Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. Sunrise is at about 4:15am and sunset is just before midnight. The first pic is taken last night after midnight. The sun had just set and although it was a cloudy night you can see the haze of the sun after it set. The second picture is about 1am so you can see that even though the sun sets just before midnight it’s still light out into the early morning hours. I woke up the other morning at 3:45 am and it was light out even though the sun hadn’t actually risen yet.
