My Alaska Life
We use the river as our road in the wintertime, travelling by snowmachine 20 miles to get to the cabin. Jeff and others, like the Lower Susitna Drainage Association, put markers on the trails so that people stay on solid ice and snow and don’t fall in holes. This time of the year as the weather warms and the river breaks up you have to keep a vigilant eye out for openings in the river and follow established trails.
