I’m still thinking about our dipnetting experience on the Susitna the other day. I did get one fish but it cost us a broken pole and a broken net. The river is so big and deep and has so much current that when I tried to lift the pole out of the water I braced it against the boat and it snapped it in two. Then when we pulled closer to the shore where it was not as deep Jeff got his net caught on a log on the bottom and when he pulled it up he ripped his net and broke the net’s rim. It was a costly adventure. We need new equipment now. It might have been better to just go buy a fish at the grocery store.
