My Alaska Life

Jeff and I spend a lot of time outdoors taking care of the garden. The mosquitos are so bad that we have to suit up against them. I wear a head net, rain gear, rain boots and rubber gloves and sometimes they still get me through the top of the gloves or on my neck between the head net and my rain suit or even occasionally on the face when the netting gets close enough to my skin to allow them to bite through the netting. Still I escape a lot of bites. The worst thing about dressing up like this is how hot I get. It’s been in the 70’s and sometimes 80’s. It’s actually shorts weather but I don’t dare go out for long in shorts. We’re out gardening for 2-3 hours at a time. When I take my suit off I’m soaking wet literally. It’s like I was in a sauna. Still, I prefer sweating over getting bitten.
