My Alaska Life
When the seagulls appear in the Spring the hooligan are just around the corner. You know they are in the river when the seagulls start getting all excited squawking all night long and hanging around on the banks of the river. Then when they start diving in the water you know the hooligan are there. You can actually see the hooligan swimming along the bank in this sunset photo. They swim together in a line along the bank darkening the water and creating a ripple. Because they swim so close to the bank it makes it easy for the seagulls and other birds and animals like bears and people to catch them.
