Jeff and John didn’t get a moose during bow season so now they are out looking for moose during rifle season. Haven’t got a moose yet but this bear happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time so Jeff brought him home for dinner. Put a few pieces on the grill today and everyone was surprised how good it was. I’ve tasted bear before and didn’t like it but this one tasted like sirloin. No gamey flavor at all. We’re putting the meat to good use and at the same time helping lower the predator population. Bears are beautiful animals but they are destructive to property, dangerous to humans and they kill lots of baby moose and other wildlife.
