It’s so much fun seeing different wildlife in the Alaskan wilds. Here are green-winged teals that showed up swimming around in the river near the cabin. I think these are female as the males have green and white on their heads which these don’t have. But all green winged teals have a bright patch of green under their wing which you can’t always see unless they are flying or they move a certain way.

Still harvesting the garden…got 2 different kinds of peas…sugar peas and Chinese pea pods. I shelled the sugar peas and eat them by the handfuls raw. They are so good. The Chinese pea pods will be good in stir fry.

Have you ever had kohlrabi? It’s one of my favorite vegetables to grow. It grows really well in Alaska. It’s delicious too! It’s sweet and juicy and crunchy like an apple but tastes a bit like a radish. I just eat them raw.
